Contemporary Barn Conversion, Sussex
A modern concrete-framed agricultural building set in a rural location has been re-designed to create a spacious, contemporary home over two levels. The size of the original building needed to be visually broken down to create a more domestic-scale building suitable for a single family home. Large areas of wall, including key corners have been removed to provide recessed glazed walls affording views down the site and reducing the perceived bulk of the building. The predominately open-plan layout uses screen walls and a mezzanine to provide more intimate spaces both at ground and first floors.
